picked up a savage 110c

hi guys i picked up a savage 110c series j in 30-06 with a weaver k4. stock is bare no finish at allsome one sanded it down to refinish it. blueing is 60%. internal is 90% great looking. it is missing clip button on side of stock. i paid 100.00 for it was wondering when it was made cant seam to find it in any books i own. serial number is c6240xx. thanks mike

    Good price, will make a nice truck gun. A buddy had a 110E in 30-06, it survived 2 overloads of 4895 in place of 4831 data. Had to beat the bolt open the second round. That rifle earned my respect that day. He grabbed the wrong sack of powder.

    Unless you specifically want/need the drop magazine, I'd suggest simplifying the process and buying a takeoff top load stock and adding a new mag box, spring, and follower.
    The reason: those mags are fairly expensive and the button & escutcheon even more so. Is this rifle one of those with the "bulge" on the barrel for the rear sight. Those are older rifles and harder to find parts for.

    hi read sight is a folding leaf. missing is the button an ring around it all other magazine release parts are there. did send numric a email. just not sure when this rifle was made can only find 110 models with out that mag release thanks mike
