Help to Identify Remington Rifle

I have a Remington rifle from the 1800's that I would like to identify. Any help with this, including value, is most appreciated. Also, I would like to add photos, but am having difficulty - please advise how to do this.

Foreign contracts. Search on auction side on rifles Rolling block and see if you see one like yours I know that hammer design is on one model but cant remember which one

Look like a nice rolling block. It is worth looking for more information. A picture of the open breach and the muzzle will help. Just guessing 7mm Mauser or 43 Egyptian.

That looks like a .50-70 NY State Militia model with that "Mule Ear" hammer. Does the hammer fall forward to the half-cock safety notch when you close the breech?

my guess too, a new york roller in 50-70. if the bore is in decent shape it would make a nice shooter. according to T.S. uncle albert,one of the i don,t give a crap crowd.

Spider is correct.
The NY State Militia model was the only roller made with the high hammer. 50-70 Cal. I own one and shoot black power only. If the cartouches are visible on the buttstock and the bore is bright, I would say $800 plus. From the pics, I would say $750. Finish is National Armory Bright.

Flayderman says these were blued and casehardend but I have never seen one with blue on the barrel, not even under the stock. I am very reluctant to suggest Flayderman may be wrong but has anyone else seen one? Every one I have seen has had quite a bit of use but doing what around 1880 in New York?

i have a NY roller in 50-70 it has the 36" barrel buddy broght one over tonight that can from dads estate looks like the NY model but has a 35 1/8 barrel has high hammer but the roller has the straight up lever and no half cock on breech closer
