Refinishing a Laminated Mauser Stock

Hi guys! I have a laminated K-98 stock I would like to refinish. Does anyone out there have some ideas. Every time I find an article about refinishing a stock, all they talk about is a solid wood stock.
There must be some differences in the two. Thanks[:I]

I used tru oil on a spare laminated K98 stock with good results. I used wood furniture stripper to clean it of its old oil finish. The same techniques will generally apply. The only problem with LATE LATE war k98 stocks is that some of them used water soluble glue to laminate the pieces. This is white instead of reddish.
