Be advised that there are two "models" of the H&R Hunter. One is based upon the Model 1906 and will have a small frame and a 7 shot cylinder. The other is based upon the Model 922, will have a large frame and will have a 9 shot cylinder. The cylinders, obviously, and the cylinder pins are not interchangable. See link to pic below:

To ID whether yours is a 7 shot or 9 shot, maybe difficult without the cylinder, the 7 shot cylinder for the Hunter is one inch long. The 9 shot for the 922 is quite a bit longer.
We never knew about the 10" barrel Hunters when I was a kid in the 1930s. The six inch 9 shot 922 was the popular .22 pistol selling for about $7.50 with the 7 shot Trapper about 50 cents less. The 'better deal' was the 922 so the 7 shooters are more scarce.
