I have a National Match Gold Cup Ser.#FN22377. What year was this manufactured and is it a series 70 or 80? Thanks

    It is a series 80. Here is some info from Google to get you started, until an expert can chime in.

    quote:The Colt Gold Cup "FN" serial number sequence started in 1983 and began with number FN01000.
    1984 started at FN03653.
    The last number publicly available was 1985, which started at FN11680.

    If yous is higher, call Colt during business hours and they'll give you a production date over the phone.

    My reference book says 1986. MK IV Gold Cup National Match. Range for that year, FN13256 - FN91615. There were other s/n prefixes that year as well.
