Deringer Revolver--- Est. Value?

Hello!
My dh and I purchased this Deringer Revolver about a year ago and have been hanging on to it until we find out about how much it is worth.

This is a 7 shot Deringer Revolver, stamped "DERINGER PHILADA" and also the #'s "4504" on the butt. We haven't taken the wood grips off to see if there are any other marks under them. I believe this was made around 1860-1870. The gun measures about 7" long.

If anyone can offer up some help I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Lori

It appears to be a .22 Deringer Pocket Revolver, made around 1873-1879. I would expect it to sell in the $100-200 range, depending upon condition.

But, the "real" value is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it. If you want to know that, just look at your receipt....

"Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms", which is the primary reference used by collectors of U.S. firearms. Identifies your revolver as being the "Second Model" of the Deringer 22 Cal. Pocket Revolver. Since yours has a seven shot cylinder, and the Guide notes the standard Deringer's were 6 shot, yours might be worth a premium to a collector?

In spite of the Deringer name, these don't sell for a lot. It's the single shot percussion guns that are valuable. The .22 revolvers show up on GB and other auctions every so often.

Thank you all for your help!

As far as value goes... not always what you pay for something is equal to what it is worth. There still are treasures to be found and I am still hunting :)

We have a very unique antique black powder shot gun I could use some help with and will try to post pics tomorrow.
    Thank you!
