Price check Ruger 10/22?

A shop has a Ruger 10/22 sporter with a 22" stainless steel barrel and a checkerd walnut stock for 225+tax and its NIB. A good deal or about average?

    the 22" barrel was a wal-mart special and should have a birch stock instead of walnut. the ruger deluxe sporter should have an 181/2"
    barrel and a walnut stock. ask him if he got the rifle from a distributor or was it a trade-in. if it is the wal-mart special they sell for $234.00 new. the stainless dsp with walnut is around $300.00 new.
