S&W Model 28 Manufacture

I was wondering the age of my S&W 357 model 28 with a s/n of AHZ28XX. Also it is about 95% correct what might the value be. Is this a type 1,2,or 3 gun. Thanks David

DOM looks to be 1986. Check the actual selling price on the on-line auctions to get a ball park value for yours.

David, 1986 was that last year of production of the model 28.

Not sure what you mean by type 1,2 or 3, but your gun would be a model 28-3 which began in 1982 with the elimination of the counterbored cylinders and pinned barrels and change in the cylinder length from 1.62" to 1.57"
