Win 670 and 70 diff

Is the 670 action and bbl the same as a 70 but with less expensive wood. In other works will the stocks interchange Thanx

    They are pretty much the same as the post 63' Winchester model 70 barrel, and action, but that is where it ends. Unless, you want to spend lots more money for bottom metal.

    The stock would fit, but you would have a gaping hole in the bottom, without buying the Model 70 floor plate assembly to go with it. The model 670 has a blind magazine.

    The safety is different on SOME of them, too. Instead of the three position safety on the bolt sleeve, some of them have a safety next to the tang, similar to the Remington 700. That requires the stock to be notched in that area.
