picked up a remington "junior special" 521T bolt action 22..made in may of 1948...my question is this..have seen many 521T's without the "junior special" marked on the barrel..what makes a junior special as opposed a 521T not marked??

I have a remington 521T that looks to been made in may 1947...about the middle of the barrel it has the patent numbers and then marked THE JUNIOR SPECIAL..trade mark and 521T..then in front of the action is the remington trade mark...I have seen several 521T'S listed on the forum but the junior special marking is gone..was that just a marketing thing for a short time or is mine somehow different from the others..it has the redfield peep and a lyman globe front but came with the stock front blade as well...just curious..thanks for your help!

The 513 T was the target and the 521 was the lighter weight Jr. target Great little Remington same family as 510 ,511,512 , 513.

Neat rifles. Check out Rimfire.com and look up Remington for a lot more info on the 500 Remingtons.
