I have recently purchased a factory compact S&W 990L w/ nite sightsin 357 Sig. . I have the factory box & 2 mag's. Have been advised by S&W that there were only 30 of these made. 15 compact, and 15 full size. Can anyone give me an idea as to the value?

    No idea.

But, if you send photos to Richard Nahas at jet53sw@aol.com , he might be able to tell you. He might even put a photo of your gun in the next edition of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson.

    This is a bit tough.

Smith 990L's in 9mm, .40SW, or .45 aren't too hard to find at around $500ish new, or less for used ones in good shape.

This one ought to be worth a *little* more because of the scarcity, but in general, these aren't highly prized guns, so there isn't that much collector's interest.

This isn't to say they aren't GOOD guns (IMO, they are excellent), just that in the "real world" you're probably not going to get much of a premium for one, maybe another $100 or so.

Obviously, the only way to really find out the value of the gun is to try to sell it and see what it fetches at auction.
