I asked this question several months ago and believe it or not I was mislead,I'm looking for a base pin latch and nut for an Ruger "OLD MODEL" single six. I was told through here that a new model used the same part, WRONG. any ideas where to get old model parts?

Might require some fitting, but are you sure the parts aren't the same? I know that new model base pins will work in old model guns, though not vice versa, for obvious reasons. Have you tried new model parts? They're cheap enough that if that's all that's keeping you from having a working revolver I'd sure give it a try.

Last month i got the base pin latch from Midway USA. The latch was 1.69 i think i did not need a nut. I dont remember if they had a nut or not. If they dont have one leave a message and i will help you look. Good Luck

That's how I found out there is a difference, just got new model parts from Numrich. I still have the original pin,"it's bent", and it is a different configuration than the new. In reality all I need is the old nut, still have the pin and spring.

The parts are not the same...not sure they can be modified to fit. +1 on the Ruger forum, there are some very knowledge guys there. Also, somewhere I have the name of a guy who is a wizz with Rugers...now all I have to do is find his name again...guys on the Ruger forum will probably know his name...he is in the southern part of the country...can't remember the state.

Bent pin? Just to make sure, we are talking about the cross"bolt" through the frame that secures the cylinder pin yes?
As noted earlier, the base pin itself will work in an old model. IF the problem is a change in thread size, is it possible that replacing both the nut and screw would work even though the new nut won't work with the old screw??
