Winchester 94 Approx. value?

I have a Winchester 1894, serial # 148,196 in the less common 32 Winchester Special. I looked on the great records available here and see it's date of manufacture appears to be 1903-1904. The gun is in what I would guesstimate about 75% condition, still being used by my friend as a backup deer gun!

For insurance purposes he's asked me to check on this site regarding it's approximate value. As always, all feedback is appreciated and Happy Holidays!

    Going to need some pictures especially in a rifle over 100 years old. Bert H will give you an expert opinion on its value and DOM when he can check your pictures out.. Need to make sure all parts of the gun are original (stock, forend,butt plate and sights) also will need to see what original blue looks like ..These are all major factors in a gun of this type's value..

    Hello,

    Winchester Model 1894 serial number 148196 was manufactured in 1902 (most likely May of 1902). The collector value will be determined by the specific factory configuration, and the graded condition. So, to get this started, please answer these questions;

    1. Variation (e.g. Sporting Rifle, Carbine (SRC), Extra Lightweight Rifle, etc.)?
    2. Barrel length?
    3. Barrel contour (octagon, round, or 1/2 octagon 1/2 round)?
    4. Magazine tube length (full, 1/2, or 2/3)?
    5. Butt stock configuration (straight grip or pistol grip)?
    6. Butt plate type (crescent, shotgun, carbine)?
    7. Plain (straight) grain walnut, deluxe walnut, or gumwood?
    8. Smooth or checkered stocks?
    9. Sight configuration (pictures would really help)
    10. Bore condition

    Of course, if you can post a series of well focused (clear) pictures, many of the answers will be clearly evident.
