AMMO On Line

Several of my rifles I can not find Ammo locally. Can you suggest the best online resource for quality ammo at reasonable prices.

I have been thinking of investing in some reloading equipment for some time. I have been saving my brass for probably the last ten years or so. I just already have limited time and do not want to shell out alot of money to never reap the rewards. How much time is involved to get started say reloading a couple of thousand rounds a year. I just bought my first AR and know the only way I can afford to shoot it will be to start reloading.

if your ar is a 223 IMHO you should just buy new. I have some decent stuff cheap on the auction side See link http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=119029376

Its the 308, I know the 223 has come along way but I remember back when it was touted as a 300 yd. round. I have always liked the 308 and have several others. The range and choice of bullets you just can't beat it.

For ammo online, use say midwayusa.com as a benchmark. Then check this website, sometimes you can find good deals other times maybe not. There are other online sources as well, cheaper than dirt, never used that one myself. Usually any shooting magazine will have advertising for that kind of stuff.

As for reloading, yes there is some upfront cost. Yes, it takes some time, time that you can be focused on what your doing. A single stage press with a kit will get you just about everything you need. RCBS and Hornady both have a nice kit. Add some dies with shellholder, do some reading, you can get started. With the AR-10(308) you may want to add a trimmer sooner than later. Also, if someone in your area reloads it can be a big help when you get started. If you have time to look you can get a lot of what you need used, press, powder measure, scale etc. But a kit is a okay deal and it gets it all at once. Whatever you decide, have fun shooting. I've been saying I was going to get a new black rifle for over a year, should have bought 2 months ago. I still have my old one that's 12 years old or so.
