Galil AR Magazine Adapter

Are there adapters made that allow the use of AR type mags in the Galil/Golani .223 rifle? Who makes them and where do you get them? And do they work?

Or will a .223 AK mag fit the Galil? The catches look similar.

There are. There is only one type on the market now and last I have heard they are really expensive $150-200 and semi hard to come by. I have had one for years to use with my IMI 386 ARM and it works great even with Beta mags. The only thing about the mag adapters is that the mag release is now on the left side of the adapter vs the paddle release.

There is a company currently beta testing a new version of them right now. I get the impression they will be starting to ship just after the first of the year but I could be wrong. The company is, http://www.MagnoliaStateArmory.com/ but it does not look like their site is up yet. If you do a web search I know they have posted info of on many boards.

I am not sure if the .223 AK mags work, never tried.

AK mags do not work. If they did, no one would go about making adapters.

I am not sure if I agree with the second part. The .223 AK mags are not uncommon but are not as common as the 7.62 mags. Also having the ability to use super cheep, super common mags that most people have laying around is nice.

Again I do not know if they work or not but I know my Galil mag would lock into a Saiga .223, but needed a feed ramp.

AK mags do not work. If they did, no one would go about making adapters for that high of a cost. With online shopping the 5.56 mags are EASY to come by if you just google.

Galil mags are not too bad. I have seen them for 30-35 bucks a pop.
