I need help! I began reloading in the mid 70's, but stored everything in 1983 when I moved. I have just unpacked my RCBS rock chucker and assessories. I use to use "Bullseye" and "Unique" for most of my pistol loads. Are there better powders for the .38/.357 and .45acp reloads? I also want to start loading the .40 S&W.

I also need a stand for my RCBS uniflow powder measure. Are these still available? Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

Both these powders are fine for the calibers listed. You might get a new loading manual as well. There are many other powders out there some old, some new but none better that these. Yes, RCBS still makes the stand you mention.

Both still very versatile powders- use them for a lot of 9mm 38/357, and 45 ACP loads. For hot heavy magnums, I also use 2400. DO get a new manual.

Be sure to smell your existing stocks of powder for any signs of decomposition if you've had them stored somewhere for almost 25 years.
Also watch for any different load data since you stopped by getting that new manual.

Better powder? 6 or 1/2 dozen the other. All in the eyes of the beholder. I use Unique and Titegroup for my 45 and 38.

Some of the new powders offer a lot cleaner burning. One of them is tite-group. It uses bullseye-like loads and burns very clean.

Unique is still hard to beat as a go-to pistol powder for mid level loads.
