I have my sights set on one of these and would like to hear from anyone who has experience with one. Looks like ideal for home defense and carrying in the woods. Comments, advice, suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Had one for awhile. Be sure and check the chamber mouths on the cylinder, mine were oversize and I had hard time working up accurate reloads. Finally I bought some .455 diameter, 255 grain Remingtons, that I was able to get the best accuracy from.

Because of the rifling in the barrel all my 410 shotshell loads were at best marginal. Consider 5 yds to be the maximum effective shotshell range. Another problem when reloading the shotshells is the internal shoulder machined in the chambers, ( Taurus does this to prevent fools chambering 455 Casual and 460 S & W in it). This shoulder caused problems with the extraction and ejection of reloaded 410 shells. The only ones that I could reload and have work were loaded using Winchester AA shells.

A friend had one. He bought it for grouse. He shot at grouse at ten yards that didn't flinch or fly away. Claimed he shot at one several times to no avail. I wouldn't have one myself....

    Thanks for the useful replies.

I guess we buy guns because we want it not because we need it. Also like many dual or multifunction units, it doesn't do any of its things as well as one for a single purpose - like a 1911 or a SAA. Anyhow, I got my Taurus 3" .45.410 today and will check it out in a couple days. It's the blued one with 3" bbl.
