I believe that Foremost was a Trade Name used by J.C. Penney, on the store brand long guns they sold. If it's made by Savage, chances are it's just a striped down economy version of their basic Model 340, bolt action rifle. The basic Model 340 was made between the 50's and 1980's, no telling what the exact DOM is for the ones they made for Pennies. Value on Store Brand guns tends to lag that of the same basic model sold under the manufacturers name. A Savage 340 in excellent original condition, chambered in 222, would probably be in the range of $250-$350 nowadays, maybe more to a collector or shooter because it's in 222.
