berreta 92fs sights/ aiming issue

hello
i have a 92fs and when you hold dead center on a body target it hits about 4 foot below center chest so it would hit about wher his knees would be and this is just at 10 yars. is there anything that can be done to correct this as it shoots so low? could the barrel be made off center (aimed down) from the factory? if i am at his head it might hit crouch or just below?
is the barrel goofed up or can the sights be tweaked somehow?
thanks

Hello FRISKY-MAD DOG my suggestion is to get some 9MM snap caps and go to the pistol range with a VERY GOOD friend . have him load your pistol with both live rounds and snap caps and then hand you the pistol Now shoot this pistol at a target as he watches your hand movement The first snap cap you encounter should show you the problem . The sights should stay on target when the hammer drops on a snap cap. [:0] Let us know if you have any other questions after you try this test . Cheers Perry-Shooter

Found bench for a semi Auto Pitol just does not work right. At least with my .45's. Could also be your sight picture. How much have you shot before.

This picture is what the others are refering to.

Assuming normal ammunition is being used, shooting 4 feet low at 10 yards is practically unheard of in any production pistol. Something is drastically off there.

Its pretty unlikely that this is a defect related to the barrel.

The most likely explanation is that the shooter's sight picture isn't correct, or there is another technique-related problem. Its also possible (though less likely) that the sights themselves are bad or damaged.

As a simple first step, I'd suggest giving the gun to an experienced shooter for a few rounds, and seeing if he/she has the same problem with grouping.

WOW I would not fire it any more you may have bulged barrel or a number of things wrong BUT what ever it is it could also be a safety issue.

problem is trigger control, not sights
only jerking can cause that much error
