What scope would you buy?

Here's the question: Lets say 7 Rem Mag and/or 300 Win Magg. Rem 700
what scope would you buy if money were no object?

what scope would you buy if money was tight?

I am really curious for everyones opionion, I have a couple that need scopes this year but I have been guilty of buying another gun as opposed to buying scopes.

Thanks

Leupold, Schmidt & Bender, Zeiss, or Swarovski... Leupold being last choice, S&B probably being first.

I am a fan of IOR due to the MP8 Dot reticule, http://www.valdada.com/
I would most likely lean toward Night Force a little more if they had the same reticle.

    WCI,

If money were no object, USO. I have an ST-10 but like the variable options. I would go for something like feenix but a little different.

If money were a deciding factor I would maybe for a Leupold rifleman, Burris Fullfield II, Nikon Prostaff. all in the 3-9 range. That's plenty of scope for most anything you would need.

To WCI. I am waiting for a Rem.798 SPS I ordered from Cabelas. With promotion and points it is costing me less than $400. If Money was no object I would put a Leupold VX II 4-12x40mm. for about $400. Cause I would not put a $1200 scope on that rifle even if I could afford it. If money was tight I would still put a Leupold VX II 4-12x40mm. on that rifle. I would just save up my money till I got enough for that scope. In other words, that rifle and that scope go together perfectly for my use. That is a perfect marriage for me. So try to think about it in that way. Match the scope to the rifle for your own use.

If money was tight; a Burris Signature or Euro Diamond in Burris Signature rings.

You would have a tough time telling the difference between the Burris optical quality and some of the other scopes mentioned.

Nightforce, and if I didn't have enough I would wait until I did.
I like the NP2-DD reticule over any of them...

Depends on the configuration of my rifle.

If it was a slim barreled sporter, I cant see putting a 20X anvil on top of it. I would go with a 2.5-10 Trijicon accupoint or a shepherd low end or a Kahles or Ziess high end.

If it was a bull barreled 1000yard 12pound monster, I would go with a leupold VX-III LR or IOR low end or U.S. optics, Night Force, Swavorski S&B high end.

A lot of good advice, but if money was real tight you would be hard pressed to take a good look at the Nikon Buckmaster BDT. For the money it is a very good value. In fact I prefer it to the new Leupolds, and several of the others mentioned. They now have a lifetime warranty no matter who the owner, which puts Leupold also a step ahead.
