marlin 336 stuck open?

i have a marlin 336 in 35 rem. while unloading it after about the 2nd or 3 rd round flew out it has become stuck open with the lever the whole way forward there isnt a shell stuck or any other visible reason why it wont close? is this a common problem with these or? any help please! thanks all!

    Is the loading gate loose? It will loosen up and jam the lever in the open position.

    don't force it probly an easy fix (adjustment)

    Below recommendation is for transportation purposes only:

    After checking the receiver area for a jammed cartridge, gently place downward pressure on the "elevator" (the part that raises the next bullet to be fired) while, at the same time, exerting a gentle downward, then upward push on the lever. If the bolt closes, then take it in for a professional look-over. Best, Joe
