Hello Krink most all the numbered models of S&W revolvers have had small changes during their life time S&W denotes this b a -2 -3 -4 ETC some of the parts are the same while orhers CYLINDER amoung others The Cylinder may have recessed chambers on one Change 14-2 but not on the next like 14-3 So brownell's wants to have you open the Yoke on your J frame and look at the model number a k frame 22 rim fire will not have the same firing pin/hammer as a centerfire. ETC. sort of like an auto the more info you give the parts deptment the more likely you are to get the right part.

If there's a space for the SerNo..put it in. Can't hurt.

Brownell's will have the parts tracking numbers segregated by model-number, then by sub-number, then the part nomenclature (I.E. S&W Model 36-2 hammers). That's what the stock clerk will refer to when filling your order. There will be an "in house" computer tracking code that will tell the clerk the room/aisle/bin to go to to retreive the part. Joe

If you get lost with the catalog, or on-line, by all means CALL BROWNELL's. They have awesome technical support, who will talk you thru anything you need to. Nothing but good to say about Brownell's.
