    Take it to a gunsmith.

It's a press fit. If you can't twist it out, you have to press it out from the reciever.

Soak barrel/ receiver junction with a good penetrant, like KROIL, for several hours. Warm the receiver (not the barrel) with a heat gun or hair dryer. You may use a 3/4 inch harwood dowel placed against the chamber area to tap it out- press fit. If it still does not release, do not bang it up, take to a smith- or you will damage receiver. Your mileage may vary. Older 22s usually have a layer of crud, carbon, unburnt powder, rust, bullet lube, and peanut butter/jelly in there.

If the receiver is aluminum alloy and the barrel is steel? Electrolysis might have occurred between the two dissimilar metals. This has a very negative effect on the aluminum. It will cause the aluminum mating surface to deteriorate and crumble away. If this happens the round hole where the barrel fits in the receiver will not be able to give tight support to the new replacement barrel.

It is steel on steel. 11b6r I'll give it a try, and thanks to all for the replies.
