I'm thinking about getting a CZ 527 but I don't know much about them.I prefer to buy USA made but I've been told the CZ rifles are very well made. What do you folks think of them for quality and accuracy out of the box?Do they have a good factory trigger? Thanks for your help.

I have a few CZ products - 97B semi, some 452s and 550s - recently bought but haven't yet received a CZ 527 American bolt rifle in 223. Wanted a centerfire but "no reloading needed" bolt rifle for casual target. Anyone got one & if so, did the thing come with rings? CZ lists a "16 mm groove" width which translates to plain old weaver base, but I doubt the receiver allows for the cross bolt in the weaver ring base.

    Any scope ring help appreaciated.

I am interested in the CZ 527. I am lefthanded, and CZ offers the 527 American in lefthand in .223 and .204.

I would be interested in forum members' input as to their experiences with this rifle, especially with regard to accuracy, best loads, quality of workmanship, etc.

I have noted that some owners have reported that scope mounting and bolt clearance of the scope is sometimes an issue, partly because the mini mauser action is so short, and thus limits the forwardness of the scope because the scope adjustments but up against the front ring if one likes to position the scope fairly forward, which I do.

Comments and impressions would be appreciated.

Mine came with rings but they were to high and I changed them out for a set of Millets.

As far as accuracy goes this rifle is awsome .210 groups on my handloads. Mine is also a .204 Ruger. Also it shot the Hornady Factory ammo very well.

I actually bought the gun for my wife then she has lost interest I think. But the again she is also pregnant.

    I have a Burris FF2 on it.

Thanks - I'll play it safe and get a set of Millett rings just in case. If it shows with rings guess I can always use the Milletts as an excuse to buy another.

Check the Brownells catalog if I remember right they offer several brands/combinations of rings that will fit the 527. Let us know how you like it. I have been thinking about getting one in 221 fireball.

got in a major overhaul on a 527 a few months ago. nice guns. the problem with rings is they are all the same height. (+/- .020") i milled the CZ set down to drop scope .250" lower. requires some other modifications. also converted 5 shot mag to 3 shot.(221 fireball).

Just FYI, CZ now makes a 3 shot flush fit magazine model. I went with that style although I admit, the 5 shot mag for some strange reason looked OK to me. Probably harkens back to one of my first rifles, an 1891 Argentine Mauser.
