Browning Choke tubes

I have sold several Citori lightning in the 3.5" chamber modb package. They have been shipped with various choke tube systems, most being the standard flush mount tubes. the problem is 2 of them were shipped to me with extended choke tubes that (after calling browning and sending pics) browning says they do not know what they are. they are not marked for steel and lead like most are, my question is this, if I were to tell my customers to go ahead and try shooting steel through the tubes marked full, what is the risk of damage and what exact damage can I tell them to look for?

I was under the impression the tightest choke for steel was modified and that when using steel, you go down 1 step from lead. Steel pellets do not deform as much as lead. Due to this characteristic, a modified choke with steel shot would group as tight as lead shot through a full choke.

That was when steel first came out and things may have changed since then.

In todays world there are chokes made just for steel so they marke them full when they really are a mod. lead choke, thats part of the problem, browning cannot tell me what these tubes actually are. Thank you so much for the help.

Basic rule of thumb,If the tube only says Full, it's lead only. Browning marks a Steel shot capable tube with Full-Steel & Mod-Lead. If it's not marked like this, or marked "Steel" anywhere on the tube, assume it's a lead shot tube.
