I recently acquired a savage 22 H.P., patent dated 1899. It was manufactured in 1914. Does it use 5.6 X 52 mm ammo?

Edit: Checked the Norma website (http://www.norma.cc/content.asp?Typ=59&Lang=2&Submeny=4&Rubrik=Calibers) and they still make the ammo; with .228 bullets.

Bullets are available:
Norma
DKT
Sellier-Bellot
RWS
Impala
Hornady makes a .227" diameter bullet also. Slug your bore and carefully measure the slug to determine what you need.
Huntington's has the DKT in 60 gr. and 70 gr. under the heading of 'Custom Bullets'. They also stock the RWS cases.
Best.
