I have an AMD 65 clone. It was made before the ban lifted. Therefore it has no folding stock. I would like to go to a galil folder or something like that. My rec is not notched on the side for a side-folder but could i put one on. What would I need and is any special work needed.

i have a romak ak that i converted from a 10rd to a high cap ak. it came with the thumbhole stock which i am replacing with the tapco telescope stock. now i know i need a pistol grip with the screw and nut but i am wondering the best way to install a aimpoint 2x red dot on the weapon? should i use a new forearm with a rail? or the detachable side mount?(the rifle has the scope adapter on it already) the aimpoint is only 1" so any 1" rings will work.looking for sugggestions on how to finish this rifle.what does everyone think of the tapco ak products? thanks

Unless I am wrong, or you already are doing it, do you have enough US parts to be 922r compliant? I have not heard of a single person getting in trouble for a 922r violation but it is a Federal law.

The 1989 import ban is still in effect and by not adding the proper number of US compliance parts you are in violation of that.

As for Tapco I have a FCG in one of my 922r compliant Saiga conversion and one of their 10/22 stocks. Both are nice.

I have a Saiga and an AK that have Russian scopes with the side mount adapters and a Draco Pistol with a forearm picatinny rail.

I personally feel the forearm rail is not as rigid as the side mount, but have never really verified accuracy with one vs. the other. FWIW, the thermoplastic side mounts seem to hold better than the machined aluminum ones. I think I have one laying around that I won't ever use. I'll check tonight and let you know.
