scope rings?

well i've had it with my weaver 1" scope rings...my burris scope keeps on sliding forward and bottoming out against the scope...it doesnt seem to matter how tight i tighten the screws...the rifle is a remington 700 .300 win-mag...what scope rings would you guys reccomend?

don't use a fix-it!! They are CHEAP rings. Throw them away and buy a set of Burris Signature rings for weaver bases, they won't let the scope slip. Weaver rings are JUNK. They scar finishes with their snap-over design and are lacking in integrity.

JustC thanks i was wondering about those burris rings...thanks to the sliding my matte finish is now scuffed pretty bad...i'll agree the rings are junk used on a rifle with higher recoil...work fine for my .220 swift though

or you can do what gunsmiths have been doing for the past 50+ years and dust the inside of the rings with powdered rosin (brownell's)

+ a large one on the Burris Signature rings. Especially if you do not lap your rings they are THE way to go. Conotrols are great if you never want to move them. Talleys vertical rings would be my second choice, but these days with the Signatures, everything else is pretty much also-rans.

I use Warne rings on my handgun mounts. I use only 2 rings and they hold with no slippage. I shoot both T/C Contender & Encore pistols in 350 Rem Mag, 375 JDJ, 375 H & H Magnum and 45/70. The recoil is very strong, especially the 45/70, & I've had no problems.

As with the other two Burris Signature ring users I totally agree, and anything else is a wannabee.
