Yes, the BOSS systems really work. They allow you to dial in a rifle zero without having to do it the old-fashioned way by reloading and experimenting with different bullet weights, shapes, and powders. You just buy a couple of boxes of the same date code ammo from the store shelf, go to the shooting range, do a 'rough' adjustment per the ammo weight you are using, and then shoot small groups, and dial the muzzle brake until you are happy with your groups. Quite a time saver versus reloading. You are basically 'controlling the muzzle harmonics with the BOSS, and ideally, you want the bullets to leave the muzzle when there is the least amount of barrel vibration (right at the muzzle) at that split second in time, to get the tightest groups. Felt recoil is reduced significantly, as well. My Winchester Model 70 with BOSS (ported one) makes the 270 cal feel like 243. The major drawback is the absolute deafening muzzle blast that you, and those around you (like at the shooting range) must tolerate. It is WICKEDLY LOUD!! Wear hearing protection at the range. Hope this gave you some insight, bak.

The BOSS reduced the recoil of a 338 Winchester Mag down to about a 30-06 on my BAR. If you think it is not working just remove it and see how she rocks ya back!
