.45 cal misfire

I recently purchased a new Taurus .45 cal. 24/7 ACP. After about 15 successful firings it no longer would fire. If I flipped the safety on then off it would fire other wise it will not. The slide seems to operate properly and the rounds load into the chamber. It does not work with or without the clip unless I do the safety thing. Any ideas what the problem is?

Is it possible when firing that somehow your hand or a part of your hand is interfering with the safety and pushing it up? Have another shooter test fire the weapon and see if it happens with them too.

Sounds like when it fires a round, the safety is becoming partially engaged. take it back to where you bought it(assuming you got it at a gun shop) and have your dealer fire it. maybe just an adjustment he can make or may need to contact manufacturer and send it in. Just talking out of my butt because I am not familiar with the innner workings of the 24/7. good luck

U can try this, IF the safety is flopping around.
Make sure the safety snaps in and out with a firm resistance
Don't know if y'r Taurus meets the Colt's spec's but what the hell give it a try

    wallie,

It is a 24/7, not a 1911. to the best of my knowledge the 24/7 is a da/sa or dao type pistol, and has nothing similar to the 1911.
