What do you think about buying the Olympic .223 Plinker and then buying the free floating heavy stainless barrel upper for it. Do you think that would be a good investment?

Thanks guys.
Thanks in advance for your time...
I have a RRA 6.8 coyote and I love it.
I would like to try an Ar in 223 cal from
a different manufaturer.
What are a few good ones to pick from?
Thanks much!

I have an 18" barrel on an SKS and it is good to about 300 yards. A friend is trying to get be to build an AR-15. If I do I am wondering if I want to go with a longer barrel then what seems to be used these days.

Thanks.
If I buy an upper in 6.8, it will fit the lower, right?
The magazine will not fit?
thanks
Its a Colt Sporter Competition HBAR. It has 4 magazines. (2-20 rounds and 2-40 rounds) It has been shot one time only with approximately 40 rounds.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Rock Island Arsenal I believe. standby for more information.
First, you are looking at a Rock Island Armory M15A1. Only Colt's are AR-15's. Most likely the rifle you carried in Vietnam was a Colt. In very good condition about $600.
IMHO I would say leave it alone. RIA firearms are somewhat inconsistant in the quality area.
RIA made some SP1 look a likes during the 1980s
Don't confuse RIA for RRA (rock river armory) current manufacturer of AR15 rifles.
