I have a Remington 81 that was MFG in 1937 and I do not know what the caliber is for this rifle. Can anybody help me figure out what it is. The research that I have found is that it could be 4 different one. I thought that all MFG are suppose to marked the barrel and I do not see any markings. All help would be great. Thanks in advance.

The quickest way is to slug the barrel though. The 81 was made mostly, in 300 Savage and 35 Remington. Shouldn't haven't any problem, figuring out the difference. By miking a lead slug driven down the barrel from the muzzle.
Bore size for 30 Rem, 32 Rem and 35 Rem are different. Bolt face will be different (I think) between 300 Sav and 30 Rem.

..............Maybe the caliber was hidden or omitted for security?
