value of smith and wesson heavy duty

1955(i think )smith and wesson 38-44 heavy duty with 5 inch bar. I would guess at least 75% condition. What would ballpark figure be? I have tried completed auctions but all are older or in 90% conditon.As always thanks for your replies.

IMHO 75% would make it a shooter, not a collector piece. Not likely to bring big bucks from anybody, way things are nowadays. Put it on the auction with a $300 minimum, hope for the best.

If your gun was made in 1955 you have a pre-model 20 heavy duty. These are rather hard to find.

Even in 75% condition it could bring $500.00 or more.

Things are in the toilet, now. The gun folks that still have money to spend are buying all the EBR's, ammo and components they can get their hands on. Trust me on this, a well worn S & W revolver isn't going to be a hot seller for big bucks. Unless you really need the money now. I would hold on to it.
