I'm wanting to buy a receiver for my M1a that has a select fire switch. how much would one cost?

A selector and the select fire parts from an M14 won't do you a bit of good, you need an actual M14 receiver (which is quite a bit different than the receiver used on an M1A) and they are priced pretty much at what cpermd listed.
That's most M1A receivers. Springfield Armory, Inc. built 125 select fire M1A rifles at its factory before the ban. I have one of them, legally. Rock Island Armory (not Arsenal) converted thirty-five SA, Inc. M1A rifles to select fire before May 1986. I agree on the price estimates mentioned above.
