Chambered in 22 short, adjustable rear sight, octagon barrel, take down receiver, serial number 1385xx on lower tang only. Pretty sure it's a variant 2 but would like to get an accurate dom for a friend. Thanks in advance.
Fixed the ssn thing. Thanks for the date and especially the original finish. This rifle has great looking wood, but the metal was re-blued [:(]. Still a neat little plinker!

Based on the serial number (SN, not ssn which is social security number) your rifle is indeed a second model variation and was manufactured during 1902. You may be interested in the more detailed information available from the Cody Firearms Museum.
