Remington 1100 Breech block buffer????

I just had a breech bolt jeweled for my 1100. I wanted to replace the breech bolt buffer in this so I ordered one from Brownells (#91450). I got the new buffer but it falls out and does not have a hole in the top to allow the firing pin retaining pin to pass through. What am I missing with this. I thought they were all the same??? By the way my gun started out as a newer field grade with the black synthetic stocks and black breech block. I bought this chrome breech block to get jeweled and use the black one as a spare. Any help would be great.
