Colt Python- Special Edition

I have a "Colorado State Patrol" Python, NIB which I am thinking about selling. I know these typically have somewhat limited appeal. However, is there any reason a special edition would be worth less than an identical (non-special edition) gun in the same condition? I'm thinking about advertising it somewhere in the $1000 range, am I close? TIA

Your gun is a "special edition" not a "commemorative". A special edition is a special purchase by an individual, distributor, or organization, while a commemorative is cataloged by Colt & available to all distributors.

Generally, special editions sell for less than the regular version of most guns.

I wish you luck trying to get $1K. But, if that doesn't work out & you really want to sell it, list it on GB with a starting bid of $500, no reserve.
