Looking for Disassembly-Assembly info on this type -- maybe a website?. The one at hand is Chinese if that makes a difference. Any info or comments appreciated. Thanx

i bought a yugoslav sks rifle and i showed to a shooting buddy and he said my model was a world war 2 era gun. my rifle shows "mdl 59/66 " on the barrel. is he making this up or is my gun a relic from world war 2?

A couple of years ago, I won a Norinco sks at a FNRA banquet raffle. A friend recently told me the Norinco brands were notorious for ejecting the barrel liner out the end of the barrel after repeated use, and as likely as not, injuring the shooter with blow-back.
Is this problem real, or imagined? Should I worry about shooting this extremely fun firearm?
    Thanks in advance,Mgderf

I know everything of course..wellll, except this:
I just picked up an SKS recently and know squat about military weapons. I'd like to know what I have and an idea of value. For what it's worth, I paid $100.00 for it.

It's the same as the one on auction #3922355 as far as I can tell. Complete with bayonnet, cleaning rod, cleaning kit in the stock, nothing missing, all parts match.
It has the standard clip type mag, plus a thirty round one that came with it.
    Made by Norinco in China
    Caliber 7.62-39
Ser no. 20002963 if it matters
Stock is a bit scratched and nicked, I'll call it 80%
Bluing looks good, but a bit of pitting around the sight hood and barrell end. Maybe 70% for that.
It shoots like a dream, works perfectly.
The gentleman on the auction is asking for a starting bid of $970.00, not getting any takers so far, so I doubt it's in that range, but worth more that a hundred I hope??

The Norinco SKS does not have a barrel liner. That should answer your question.

Norinco's do have a chrome lined barrel, I believe. The Yugo's do not.
Never herd of a liner coming out. I'm sure a SKS expert will come along and answer, confirming or disputing my notion.

Clays told you right. No liner, just a very good quality chrome plated bore. The chrome plating prevents rust and corrosion, and makes it easy to clean as well. You have a nice gun that will hold up well for the long haul.

Enjoy that gun. I have one that can out shoot my friend's two Yugos. Also the only gun that I have ever seen that the brass tries to go after the bullet! [:D] And the only gun that the safety can be turned off and fired in one motion.

And the over rated Mini-30. Best $89.00 I ever spent. Cleaning it was a pain though.....
