does anybody know about these guns. i inhereited one with the round bolt bolt. i have heard rumors about what these are worth. i'm trying to figure out for sure.

I am sure some of us know something, but, without photos, we can't even tell what kind of gun you have, let alone how much it is worth. Do you think you might have an M1 carbine, as opposed to an M1 Garand?

from what i have been told is that the one's with square bolt are memanufactured and round bolts are original.

They are called "flat" or "round" bolts. The flat bolts were the earlier M1 bolts and the round bolts were made for the M2 select fire carbine.

They are actually interchangeable, you can use either bolt in either gun.
