Marlin Mod. 81

I'm currently looking for a good used .22 (read inexpensive) rifle to do the vermin that are killing my quail.

Are the older Marlin bolt actions anything near as accurate as my old 39A? It needn't be an 81 in particular, just something similar in S/L/LR that I can easily scope.

Any ideas on what a fellow ought to pay for one?

I have a Marlin 25N that I have had since I was twelve. It still drives tacks and would be more than adequate for vermin control.
You can probably find one for around $100 as they were not that expensive when new. You can't have mine though![;)]

OK, 25N. That's another one to add to the list to look for. Thanks.

If'n it ain't obvious, I'm not very familiar with their bolt action rim fires other than the 101 single that I had as a kid, and that thing patterned like a shotgun.
