AK accuracy with iron sights

Should an AK that shoots 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with iron sights off sand bags considered outstandingly accurate? I think it is, my friend says that isn't anything special for an AK. Who is right?

I have a couple AK's and I dont think they are that accurate.
"Outstanding", maybe, maybe not, but thats better than average for an AK.

1.5 MOA for an AK is real good. With their loose tolerances, its amazing it can hold that tight.

At a hundred yards, my wasr 10 will keep them all on a paper plate, no way will mine (or is it me? lol) keep them at 1.5

Edit: I didnt realize you said from a rest, i always shoot mine standing. Maybe if i shot from a rest i could get 1.5s

Pretty good. I just did 2" the other weekend sitting supported. I don't get to shoot as often as I would like but given some more pratice I bet I could get this tighter.

My Norinco's trigger pull would probably withstand being thrown off the roof of a house without discharging, but it still groups 2.5-3.0 from prone with Wolf FMJ.

You should trade that trigger out for a Tapco G2.
