Can anyone give me info on how to disassemble a DARNE SHOTGUN? The gun is a HALIFAX.

To remove the barrels, I suggest you remove the slide. This can be done by first moving the slide to the rear position. On the bottom of the slide is a tang that you need to push upwards on, the slide should then release and can be removed from the rest of the shotgun.
Next look inside the receiver part and there is a barrel release. Use something like a small screw driver to place in the slot and pry up. The locking devise pivots. The front of the pivot should be in the down position. Move the barrels to the rear, they should be free. I have an older one piece stock Halifax model that requires a slight bump or tap to free the barrels. My two piece stock models do not require a bump or tap for some reason.
Once the barrels are removed it becomes pretty easy to figure out how to take the rest of it apart. I have found that parts do not necessarily interchange on these Darnes even within the same model. Don't lose any of the machine screws, they are very hard to replace. What gauge is your Darne? I have three Halifax models all are 16 ga. Good luck, Robin
