Win. 1894 Cartridge Guides R&R

I couldn't find an answer when I searched so....
I have a 1894 made in 1900 that has damaged cartridge guides. They are held in by screws from inside the receiver. I checked Brownells etc for a special tool and couldn't find anything.
Do I need to make a special driver to reach in or is there some special way of doing this?
Also, on Take Down models how is the receiver extension attached to the barrel? Threaded on, same as receiver (not interupted) or???
Thanks [:)]
