Found a box with some, neat stuff. This one Puzzles me it a Band for a Rifle or Carbine, but can figure out what it might fit.

The swivel on the bottom Has a Hole for a Sling swivel / and slot too.
Small slot on one side has a serial number .017

I deal mostly and Enfield parts, Any Ideas.

Closest I could find. Was a woodcut of a converted Lee Metford. According to the info on the woodcut. These were converted in the very early 1900's. And were known as "Charge Loaders". The front band appears to have 2 separate components? Similar to the one in your photo. But not exactly the same?

That band hits something in the back of my mind.[|)]

From long ago, I think, and this is only a feeble guess where I saw them, is on some sort of a Parade Rifle???

    Special slings for parade maneuvers???
