I am using the Red Book of Winchester values, 3rd edition. It was co-authored by one of our fine members, Bert H.
HOWEVER BATFE goes by a different book then Bert so if you go by batfe the gun is an antique i
Bert of course is correct on dates as to serial numbers .

The BATF does not use a different book. They use the information in the records at the CFM (which is what I used).

It was the first one made on January 4th, 1899, and accordingly, it is not a bona fide "Antique" per Federal regulations. I will reiterate this... The BATF uses the exact same information (records) that I published.
BlueBook says 1897.
The Blue Book is not a credible reference source for Winchester DOM information. I suggest that you use this link when attempting to determine a Winchester DOM - http://winchestercollector.org/dates/

That's a great website, Bert. Thanks! You should add it to your "sticky": http://forums.GunBroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=231184
