Sorry Sir: But I would think any Range would be non-existent in Kalifornia. I prepose the other 48 states make a Range of LA. Yup! I said 48. [;)]

Well as a matter of fact California does have a range or two. 5 of these are less than 1/2 hour from my place.

    Gun Ranges and Gun Clubs
11/3/98 .... The San Bernardino Forest has reopened 4 shooting ranges. The ban on target shooting back in September, 1997 was because of a fire blamed on target shooters south of Running Springs. The four areas legal to target shoot are: Manzanita Flats on Forest Road 1N09 south of Running Springs, Big Pine Flats Northwest of Big Bear Lake, Lightning Gulch off Highway 38 near Heartbar, and Arrastre off Highway 38 east of Big Bear Lake. The range at Cactus Flats is closed due to the damage to the surrounding vegetation that the Forest officials deemed needed protection. The San Jacinto Mountain areas will also be legal to target shoot in. The shooting range at Lytle Creek is to be opened any day. For a detailed map of the shotgun only hunting areas, call the San Bernardino County Fire Special Districts office at PH# 909-387-5940 (157 W. 5th Street, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92415-0451). While the Forest Service has designated four areas for target shooting, the hours of shooting in these areas is regulated. Under the forest management plan, you, as a shooter, you must first contact the governing body, the Forest Service, prior to use of the designated area. Upon contact, you will be given an activity level report rating which dictates the hours you will be permitted to shoot in your chosen area.
