Wards 'Triumph' SXS

I'm looking seriously at a Wards 'Triumph' 5100 sxs 12 ga. w/ a Tenite stock. All metal is in pretty good shape (90%) and the case coloring on the receiver is not too shabby. If I were to buy it (price is great) I would want to change the Tenite stock and forearm to wood. I'm trying to make sure of the Stevens model that it really is.
Anybody have any idea? I'm pretty sure it is not a 311.
Thanks.

According to my reference the 5100 on the side of the frame isn't a model number.

If it's Wards ( Western Field ), it's their Model 52. Same as the Stevens Model 311. Only produced for a very short time in the early 50's, with Tenite furniture. Tenite wasn't durable enough as compared to wood, it was dropped in 1952.

Also according to my reference, some folks specialize in collecting the Stevens & Springfield guns with Tenite stocks. As there were only (8) different types made over a short period of time prior and after W W II.,i.e. 55+ years ago, there might be some collector interest in the shotgun you are interested in buying?

Thank you very much for the info. It's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to have to get it. I'll still change the stock (eventually) but most likely keep the Tenite in case of any collector value in the future.
