Moon clips for the Ruger GP100 .357 possible?

Can moon clips be used on the Ruger GP100 .357 revolver without modifying/machining the gun?

Has anyone used the Bauman speedloader for the GP100?

Thanks.

I wouldn't think headspace wouldn't allow it, and I'm not sure it would be easy to fashion moon clips for a rimmed case like the .357 in the first place.
(Which probably means that someone has found a way to do it, but not that I know of!)

Moon clips are designed for using rimless cartridges in a revolver. The .357 cartridge has a rim, so you really wouldn't be able to attach a .357 to a moon clip to start with.

Use of moon clips on a .357 requires milling the rear face of the cylinder to clear the thickness of the clip. A good job will leave enough original surface for you to still load loose ammunition. Pinnacle Guns charges $85 for the job and there are others.
Clips are $40 for ten from TK custom.
You would be limited to the brand of ammunition or brass, not all have enough relief cut in front of the rim to snap into a clip.

I had not heard of the Bauman until I looked it up from your post.

    Edit to add
I have had a couple of S&Ws cut for clips. Never had any trouble bending clips, but the long skinny .38s wiggle around and are not as easy to load as short heavy .45ACP. I sold one gun and just load the other with a speedloader.

Keep in mind that the Clips for this conversion are very thin and easily bent. Not nearly so robust as the 45ACP and 10mm clips.

I have a .357 that uses moon clips..the S&W TRR8 MD 327 8 SHOT..as said [Hawk Carse] the cylinder has been machined to let the clip set down in it.the rounds load easier and faster because of the moon clips and the chamfered holes.works great on this particular revolver of mine..Loko
