Bayonet ID Help

I have a French MAS bayonet in Unissued (go figure) condition. It is the square pattern spike style. However I can't tell if it is for the MAS 36 OR MAS 39. I know that the MAS 39 Bayonet is shorter than the 36 but I don't know what the lengths are supposed to be. This bayonet mesures 17". Which is it? Thank You.
