After getting these where I was happy with them...what do/can you do to these to keep up the luster of the watco oil finish I recently put on these walnut stocks..this is a 1972 model..if I keep waxing them, which I've done twice w/watco wax, every two weeks to a month will they [stocks] continue to polish and shine more?.the hand rubbed oil finish has the same overall gloss/sheen to it as the buttsock, its just hard to photograph...thanks..Loko

I have waxed some stocks before, it seemed if you rewaxed to soon it did not help much but if you waited a month and then did it again it was like you gave the first job time to cure. Also if you get a small buffer and let the wax dry real good like a 1/2 hour then buff , it seems to shine even more. Just my 2cents.

    Very Nice -

I hand-rub watco danish oil often, and also finish with wax a week or so after the last oil rub. The old-time paste wax w/most carnauba have done well for me, but look no better than yours. I do have to wait 1/2 day sometimes before buff-off if the shop is humid. After 3-4 coats it doesn't look much deeper/richer, so that is how much I polish. I don't use power when I polish.

I do re-wax before and after bird season though, and it seems to be enough.
